RECOMMENDATIONS
🌟 Recommendations for Manu
🌿 Prepare for the tropical climate
The Manu region has a warm and humid climate year-round. Pack lightweight, quick-drying clothing, as well as a waterproof jacket or poncho in case of rain (very common in the jungle).
🦟 Protect yourself from insects
Use insect repellent with DEET (minimum 30%) and wear long pants and long-sleeved shirts, especially at dawn and dusk, when mosquitoes are most active.
🥾 Wear appropriate footwear
Good waterproof hiking boots are essential, as the trails can be wet, muddy, or slippery, especially during jungle excursions.
📸 Don’t forget your camera or binoculars! The jungle is teeming with life: monkeys, birds, reptiles, and even caimans. Bring a camera with a good battery and, if you have them, binoculars to fully enjoy wildlife viewing.
💊 Personal first-aid kit
Although we carry a general first-aid kit, we suggest you bring your personal medications: for allergies, indigestion, fever, dizziness, or any specific condition.
🧘 Get ready to disconnect
Many lodges don’t have cell phone service or Wi-Fi. It’s the perfect opportunity to disconnect from daily stress and reconnect with nature.
🧴 Stay hydrated
Bring your own reusable water bottle. Purified water will be provided at the lodges, ideal for staying hydrated in the humid climate.
🧳 Pack light, but pack smart
Use medium-sized, rainproof backpacks or suitcases. The key is to bring only what you need, as boat transport has limited capacity.
FAQs
❓ Frequently Asked Questions
📅 What is the best time to visit the Manu Rainforest?
The best time is between April and November, during the dry season. However, the tour is available year-round. During the rainy season (December to March), there may be more mud and some hikes become more challenging, but the biodiversity remains impressive.
🧒 Is this tour suitable for children or seniors?
Yes, provided they are in good health and have basic mobility. The hikes are not extreme, but they do require stamina. The tour is not recommended for infants or people with reduced mobility.
💉 Is vaccination against yellow fever mandatory?
It is not mandatory, but it is highly recommended. The vaccine should be administered at least 10 days before your trip.
🚿 Is there electricity and hot water at the lodges?
Most lodges offer solar power during specific hours, ideal for charging cell phones or cameras. The shower water may not be hot in all accommodations, but it is safe.

No. During the tour, you will be completely disconnected. Prepare for an authentic, technology-free experience where the sounds of the jungle will be your only connection.

🍽️ What kind of food is offered during the tour?
We serve typical regional cuisine—simple but delicious. Vegetarian and special diet options are available upon request. The meals are balanced and include fruits, grains, rice, meat, and eggs.
